It is also adorned with numerous cultural and historical attractions. Among others, the Old Cavalry Bridge in the center of the city is a symbol of Konjic and the wider Herzegovina region.
Not far from the town center of Konjic is the best-kept secret of the former SFR Yugoslavia, Tito’s bunker, which was declared a National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2011 due to its importance. A recognizable Konjic brand is wood carving, which, due to its importance and recognition, was included in the representative list of UNESCO’s world intangible cultural heritage.
Jablanica is also surrounded by high mountains and clean lakes and rivers. It is also known for its excellent restaurants that serve roast lamb. The destroyed bridge from World War 2 is one of the hallmarks of Jablanica, which has many other historical and natural sights.
Mostar is a city in Bosnia and Herzegovina, located on the banks of the Neretva River, it is the cultural center and the largest city of Herzegovina. Mostar is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it got its name from the guardians of the bridges on the banks of the Neretva River. The Neretva is bridged by the Old Bridge, which, together with the Old Town, has been on the UNESCO list of protected cultural heritage since 2005. Stari Most was built in the sixteenth century by order of Suleiman the Magnificent and is a classic of Islamic architecture and engineering.
Just a short drive south of Mostar, you are in the small village of Blagaja. Inside Blagaj, there is a famous tekija, that is, a monastery founded in the sixteenth century by dervish monks. Located at the foot of the rock, near the source of the Buna river, the monastery in Blagaj is about 600 thousand years old. Today, the monastery houses a restaurant with a view of the water and landscapes that rarely leave any guest indifferent.
